CNBC’s Mark Haines scolds his guest for not having any facts to substantiate his claims. Hans Bader of the Competitive Enterprise Institute was trying to claim that several offers of foreign assistance in the oil soill clean up effort where being being rejected by President Obama due to The Jones Act.

But when Haines asked how many hand been rejected, Bader could only sight on for which he had no facts to what roll, if any The Jones Act had in that single offer being rejected. Eventually Haines told his ill-informed guest:

"Hang on a second! Let me get the facts out on the table and then you can make up your own."

Video after the jump

HAINES: How many rejections under the Jones Act?

BADER: I don’t know how many.

HAINES: Excuse me, Senator McCarthy, you can’t tell us how many there are? I want the facts, give us hard facts, give us evidence, not innuendo, not baseless accusations, okay? It’s offensive to intelligence. The fact is sir, you have told us there are examples of rejections and you can not name a single one.

Haines was clearly displeased with the obvious snow job and in a follow up segment, Haines issues a clear warning to future guest about coming onto his show without any facts.

"Memo to anyone who is going to come onto thos program. If your going to say there are several examples, you better have several examples. Because if you say there are several examples, but can only come up with one, a vary loud bell goes off in my head that says this guy is BS'ing us."
