FreedomWorks Caught Inflating DC Tea Party Crowd Size

Matt Kibbe, president of FreedomWorks, the group that organized the event, said on stage at the rally Saturday that ABC News was reporting that 1 million to 1.5 million people were in attendance.

At no time did ABC News, or its affiliates, report a number anywhere near as large. ABCNews.com reported an approximate figure of 60,000 to 70,000 protesters, attributed to the Washington, D.C., fire department. In its reports, ABC News Radio described the crowd as "tens of thousands."

As a result of Kibbe's erroneous attribution, several bloggers and commenters repeated the misinformation. In his blog, Kibbe apologized Sunday for the mistaken attribution of the crowd-size estimated to ABC News.

"With a dead IPhone, I had been shown tweets from a number of different folks behind the stage citing the ABC estimate. They didn't say it. I regret misrepresenting the network, as their coverage that day was fair and honest."

However, what isn't honest is Kibbe's claim that the misrepresentation was based on him reading tweets from total fucking strangers that ABC had estimated attendance totals at 1 to 1.5 million.

Look around asshole! - If you don't see a crowd like the crowd that gathered on the same God Damn spot to watch Barack Obama take the oath of office, then guess what shit for brains? - You're not even in the fucking neighborhood of 1 to 1.5 million and you should have known that by the size of that TupperWear Party or Tea Party or whatever the hell you call it. By many of the signs that folks where carrying, you'd think that it was a Klan Ralley.

How someone could mistake a crowd of 45,000 to 65,000 to be one in excess of 1,000,000 is incredible. It's the same tactic used to over populate Sarah Palin rallies. It's just embarrassing and you'd think that they would know better.

But you know what? - I think that they really beleived that a million people would show up. However, when not even 1/10th of that pipe dream of a crowd showed up, they got desperate. They took a shot and ended up shooting themselves in the foot. So what do they do at that point, they lie about how the misunderstanding happened and end up with that already shot and bloody foot in their fucking mouth. BRAVO!

Countrywide CEO Mozilo Charged With Fraud

Countrywide, once the nation's largest home mortgage lender, was blamed by many for its role in the subprime mortgage meltdown that kicked off the ongoing financial crisis. The company collapsed last year and was acquired by Bank of America. Mozilo, who co-founded the company, became synonymous with predatory lending as many Americans fell into foreclosures after they took out risky loans through Countrywide and other lenders that they were unable to afford.

The Securities & Exchange Commission announced today it will charge former Countrywide CEO Angelo Mozilo and two others with civil fraud and insider trading, making Mozilo the most high-profile individual to face federal charges in the wake of the financial crisis.

"This is the tale of two companies," Robert Khuzami, Director of the SEC's Division of Enforcement said at a press conference announcing the charges. "Countrywide portrayed itself as underwriting mainly prime quality mortgages using high underwriting standards. But concealed from shareholders was the true Countrywide, an increasingly reckless lender assuming greater and greater risk. Angelo Mozilo privately described one Countrywide product as 'toxic,' and said another's performance was so uncertain that Countrywide was 'flying blind,'" Khuzami said.

Sarah Palin: Still Defending Her Diarrhea Of The Mouth

For former President George W. Bush, the war in Iraq was a crusade. Gov. Sarah Palin called it “a task from God. However, in an interview with ABC News last week, the one-time vice presidential candidate tried to explain away her verbage when referring to the bloody war in Iraq as a task from God. In the process, Palin contradicted herself on previous statements that human activity did not cause global warming.

She also defended asking for federal earmarks for Alaska after painting herself as a one-woman crusade against such wasteful spending, and not just as the Executive, but also too, when she was the Mayor of Wasilla. However, after the campaign we learned that she actually lobbied for them then as well. The self-proclaimed caribou hunting, lipstick wearing, snow machine riding, hockey mom seemed as unprepared and poorly spoken as she did during last years campaign.

I’m not counting Palin out just quite yet, but if there has ever been a political figure besides Joe Biden that you can count on to say the wrong thing at the worst time, it’s Sarah Palin. The difference is that the things that Biden says are silly and not well thought-out. Palin’s verbal diarrhea is calculated and routed in her extremist views. A case in point would be here desire to see abortion outlawed including in cases of rape and incest. However, you have to admit that Joseph R. Biden Jr. was dead-balls accurate when he said that Sarah Palin was a “backwards step” for woman. I think that was the point when even the most disenfranchised former Hillary supporter said WTF?

Make no mistake; Sarah Palin was a more formidable opponent than John McCain could have been in two of his lifetimes, yet his greatest misfortune in life besides being a prisoner of war, was picking Sarah Palin as “his” vice presidential running mate. No candidate will ever be successful with this woman at the bottom of the ticket. Palin will rise and fall all on her own as she's done her entire life and it surprises me, knowing what we now know about her, the she would have accepted the co-pilots chair to begin with. That's not how it is in her married life, so it stands to reason that the same would apply in her political life.
