Why can’t Fox News and Bill O’Reilly just admit they're wrong about the killing of Osama Bin Laden? Allen over at The Liberal Viewer You Tube Channel outlines in a video that the local Fox News affiliate got it wrong right from the start.
There was a misleading banner along the lower 1/3 of the television screen that read:
“OBAMA BIN LADEN DEAD” Fox News is famous for these banner mishaps, but in all fairness, I think this was just a case of missing punctuation. It would make more since in the following format “OBAMA: BIN LADEN DEAD” as if Obama was making the announcement that Bin Laden was dead. Besides this banner error, the local Fox affiliate also reported that Bin Laden had been killed almost a week earlier by a bomb. Of course, this was just false reporting.
But where Bill O’Reilly is clearly wrong was during a 2008 interview with then Senator Obama on the topic of a potential Bin Laden capture. In a campaign speech, candidate Obama said that if the United States had actionable intelligence that Osama Bin Ladin was hiding in Pakistan and Pakistan was unwilling or unable to assist, he wouldn’t hesitate to go in and get him. Bill O’Reilly went after Obama in the video below over that very comment from the Denver speech.
BILL O’REILLY: “You gave a speech in Denver. Good speech by the way, but you bloviated about McCain not following him (Bin Laden) to the cave. You’re not going to invade Pakistan Senator if you’re president. You’re not gonna send ground troops in there. You know it!”
Well, that is exactly what Barack Obama did when he became president. For some reason, Bill O’Reilly just can’t bring himself to admit he was wrong. Not just slightly wrong, but categorically wrong. I take particular offense to O’Reilly's comment that Obama “Bloviated” about capturing Osama Bin Ladin.
blo·vi·ate/ˈblōvēˌāt/
Verb: Talk at length, esp. in an inflated or empty way.
Come on O’Reilly! – Just admit it! - There was nothing inflated or empty about Obama’s campaign promise to capture and kill Osama Bin Ladin. If anyone “bloviated” it was George W. Bush when he shouted through a bullhorn on that rubble pile at ground zero. Remember Bill? – How George W. Bush promised that Bin Ladin “would be hearing from all of us soon.” That was bloviating.
Remember when George W. Bush spoke from the flight deck of The Abraham Lincoln and announced that combat operations in Iraq were over? Remember how he made that announcement beneith that enormous "mission accomplished" banner? -That was bloviating.
As it turns out, it was Barack Obama that took care of Osama Bin Laden and ended combat operations in Iraq. That's not bloviating, it's just a fact.

MSNBC's Cenk Uygar Rips Obama On Lack of Support For Wisconsin Union Employees
Rut-Row! - Hell may have frozen over. MSNBC's Cenk Uygar has called President Barack Obama to the carpet over his lack of support for Union Workers in Wisconsin.
Uygar gave the most scathing assessment of Obama's handling of the crisis. Rachel Maddow has also been critical of Obama on this issue, but nothing compared to the visably angry critique Cenk Uygar offered for Obama's complete 180 from campaign promises he made in 2007.
The video clip below highlights just such a campaign promise where then Sen. Obama said the following:
“If American workers are being denied their right to organize and collectively bargain, when I’m in the White House I’ll put on a comfortable pair of shoes myself. I’ll walk on the picket line with you as President of the United States of America.”
Kudos to Uygar for saying what others in the liberal are too afraid or not allowed to say when it comes to Obama's memory regarding camapaign promises. Remember GITMO anyone. Sure the list of accomplishments is larger, but that doesn't mean that we should casually lose sight of the short comings and failures.

Rachel Maddow does a good job explaining the paradox that is robbing Obama of the political capital that should have come from his administrations accomplishments.

Glenn Beck Attacks Two Term, Democratic, Nobel Prize Winning Woodrow Wilson
"The Boy Scouts were used by President Wilson to deliver his message door-to-door." Beck said today on his show.
Well, let's take a look at our 28th. president who Beck claims was so terrible, he was elected to a second term. Whatever history has to say about Wilson, both good and bad has little to do with Beck's desire to discredit his legacy. It has everything to do with Wilson being a two term democratic president who also happens to a Nobel Prize recipient. Barack Obama is already two-for-three with one presidential term and the Nobel Peace Prize already under his belt. That is the motivating factor behind Glenn Beck's attack on Wilson.
If Barack Obama is re-elected to a second term, what will that say about Glenn Beck's effectiveness after four years of painting our first minority president as everything from a racist to a Nazi? - It will say that just because you host the most watched political commentary show on tee-vee, it does not mean that everyone is watching because they subscribe to your ideology hook, line, and sinker. While Fox News may be the most watched cable news show, it is most certainly not the most trusted name on tee-vee news. If it were, vice-president Sarah Palin would be handing in her resignation right about now. Isn't that the point were she usually loses interest. You know, when it's not the shiny penny that it once was? - It's either that or the halfway point or when the next best thing comes along. The one thing that it isn't is "Country First" and that's for God Damn sure!
Woodrow Wilson was elected President as a Democrat in 1912. In his first term, Wilson persuaded congress to pass the Federal Reserve Act, The Federal Trade Commission, the Clayton Antitrust Act, and the Federal Farm Loan Act. He was re-elected in 1916 around the campaign slogan "he kept us out of the war", but U.S. neutrality was challenged in early 1917 when the German government proposed to Mexico a military alliance in a war against the U.S., and began unrestricted submarine warfare, sinking without warning every American merchant ship its submarines could find. Wilson in April 1917 asked Congress to declare war.
In 1917, he began the United States' first draft since the US civil war, raised billions in war funding through Liberty Bonds. National woman's suffrage was also achieved under Wilson's presidency. In the late stages of the war, Wilson took personal control of negotiations with Germany, including the armistice. He went to Paris in 1919 to create the League of Nations and shaped the Treaty of Versailles, with special attention on creating new nations out of defunct empires.
Largely for his efforts to form the League, he was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize. In 1919, during the bitter fight with the Republican-controlled Senate over the U.S. joining the League of Nations, Wilson collapsed with a debilitating stroke. He refused to compromise, effectively destroying any chance for ratification. The League of Nations was established anyway, but the United States never joined. A Presbyterian of deep religious faith, he appealed to a gospel of service and infused a profound sense of moralism into Wilsonianism.
These are the facts that Glenn Beck cannot allow to get in the way of the narrative the he wants to create in the minds of his loyalist. It's a Fox News mantra. Never let the facts get in the way of a good story. Was Wilson the most regarded president to hold office, no! - But he wasn't the worst, was he?
Dear President Obama: Incase I haven't said so lately, Thank You!
Dear President Obama: Incase I haven't said so lately, Thank You!
Can we just take 10 minutes out of our busy lives to thank President Obama for stabalizing an economy that was in free-fall when he took office? -- Can we be thankfull to still have a thriving auto industry that had already been written off as a lost cause when President Obama took office? --
Can we now appreciate the value of programs like "Cash For Clunkers" that were reported by some in the conservative media as just another liberal handout. At the time, Fox News painted a narrative about the sudden downfall of the American auto industry as being due to poor craftsmanship, while totally ignoring the impact of the credit crisis.
Anyway, Thank you President Obama for a job well done under such extraordinary circumstances. I am now more enthusiastic about President Obama being re-elected to a second term than I was in getting him elected in the first place. That is very extraordinary enthusiasm if I say so myself.

Dear Sarah Palin: Please Google Before You Speak
Sarah Palin needs google everything she plans on saying before she says it. Yet again she blast Obama, this time for his "nuclear-free world" comment. Then she throws out Ronald Regan's name to ralley the crowd into thunderous applause. As if Ronald Regan would scoff at such an idea. Then Stewart plays a video of Ronald Regan saying the same God Damn that Obama said! -- If anything, it's proof positive that Sarah Palin and the Tea Party people are politically unsophisticated and historically challanged and Fox News may be responsible for that.
Stewart:
"So here's where we're at: We're at the point now that the by far No. 1-ranked news network in this country no longer feels the need to accurately report what a policy document says in black and white. And once you free yourself from the fetters of fact shackles -- or fackles -- in the present day, you'd be amazed at what you can do to the facts from the past."

Tax Refunds Up 10% Due To Recovery Act
In his weekly address, President Obama takes on outraged teabaggers' claims about higher taxes and bigger government by pointing out some real statistics and facts, starting with this: tax refunds are 10% higher because of Recovery Act tax breaks aimed at the middle class.
Got that, teabaggers? You're going to go out on April 15th and protest...tax cuts for the middle class?
In anticipation of FOXy liars, the Administration has created a handy tax tool, showing all the different ways the Recovery Act saves money. Truly, for all the whining about bank bailouts and the like, someone ought to rename the Recovery Act the Middle Class and Unemployed Bailout Act of 2009. Maybe then they'd get a clue. Or not.
If you want to see all the different ways your taxes were lowered, or show your favorite Tea Party neighbor how their taxes were lowered, here's the tool for that.
What a country we live in, where a teabagger can cash their refund check and send it all to FreedomWorks to protest the break they just got on their taxes.
Palin Shows Tea Party As Politically Unsophistocated
The Tea Party movement loves to express its affection for the Constitution. The Los Angeles Times writes, "Adherence to what supporters deem to be a strict interpretation of constitutional principles is a key tenet of the tea party movement."
In her speech at the rally, Sarah Palin of course paid homage to the Constitution. "Our vision for America is anchored in time-tested truths that the government that governs least governs best, that the Constitution provides the path to a more perfect union — it’s the Constitution," she exclaimed. And so it’s extremely puzzling that Palin introduced this new attack line against President Obama yesterday:
"In these volatile times when we are a nation at war, now more than ever is when we need a commander-in-chief, not a constitutional law professor lecturing us from a lectern."
Just as Karl Rove suggested, the politically unsophistocated crowd cheered wildly at Palin’s line just because of the inflection of her voice.

Fox Nation takes a humerous comment by President Obama from an Associated Press article and spins it like a top. In the AP artical, Obama joked that the political battle over health care may have contributed to his rising colesterol level and how ironic it would be if health care drove him to an early grave. The Associated Press artical was titled "Obama's health care pitch to Democrats: Trust me."
The headline that FOX NATION ran with for what was nothing more then a link to the Associated Press story read: “Obama Invokes His Death in Health Care Talks.”
Invokes his death? Really? - "Invokes?" \in-vok\ - 1 (a) : to petition for help or support (b) : to appeal to or cite as authority.
The headline alone sent FoxNation commentors into a long thread of assassination fantasies and how good such a thing would be for the country. Obama's comment did not "invoke" his death via health care talks. It was FoxNation's twisted headline that not only invoked, but solicited and incited it's commentors to begin a dialog. A dialog that just might push that one unstable person that much closer to the edge.
The FoxNation comments below are a fine example of the mindset of the typical viewer that consideres Fox News to be a legitimate source for news and information. I mean exactly what is the difference between Fox News and an Al-Qaeda training camp? -
They're both recruiting tools for extreamist. Nothing more, nothing less.

Sean Hannity Goes All In For Palin......Alone!
President Obama is considered by many to be, academically and intellectually, one of the smartest presidents to ever take office -- true or not, it's indisputable that he is well-educated.
Even Fox News contributor Juan Williams couldn't stomach Hannity's gushing over Sarah Palin's appearance on Jay Leno's show. Hannity said: ". . . I think she's gone a long way to opening the door for people to say, all right, maybe she was treated unfairly." as if defending herself from her own stupidity was an accomplishment.
Williams conceded that she was "very human and funny . . . I think she is a superstar, a centerfold for conservative men," but went on to say that she's not likely to convince 75% of the American public who don't think she's qualified to be president. Hannity went all in and said: "I think she's brilliant, I think she's gutsy, I think she's courageous, and I'll tell you what, I think she's smarter than Barack Obama. She wouldn't lead us into this socialist utopia . . . ."
Smarter than Barack Obama? Five colleges in six years to get a bachelors degree? Couldn't explain the office of Vice President of the United States -- the job she was applying to the American public for -- four times? And those "gotcha" interviews with Katie Couric and Charlie Gibson . . . whew, sharp intellect are not the words that instantly spring to mind.
Juan Williams reacted the way many Americans react to this statement, except he didn't keep his composure to a limit as most of Hannity's Great American Panel. "You are so wild on this point," he told Hannity, ". . . Your libido is . . . getting in the way of your thinking."
Hannity insisted that he'd take "Governor Palin as President over Barack Obama, to which Williams incredulously replied, "Come on . . . You would trust her with our national security over Barack Obama . . . you'd rather listen to her explain national policy than Barack Obama?" This earned an emphatic "yes" from Hannity -- which goes to show that thinking with a libido doesn't merely interfere with thinking, it turns men of otherwise average intelligence into blithering idiots. I mean, come on -- it was on Hannity's own show that Palin seemed to not know the difference between Iran and Iraq.
Hannity, accused by Williams of being "self-righteous," protested that Williams was trying to diminish Palin, and claimed, "What if I started commenting on Michelle Obama's looks? . . . We don't go after Barack Obama's wife and what she wears and her clothes . . . nobody does." Wow, then this must have been somebody pretending to be Sean Hannity on Sean Hannity's radio show who ridiculed Michelle Obama's clothes when she went overseas and claimed she was wearing designer clothes so people would call her "Jackie Kennedy." Of course, in his defense, most of his smears have nothing to do with clothing, like when he implied that Michelle was a racist, unpatriotic, and said she was "bitter and angry."
(And as an aside, Williams can't exactly take the high road on this one either. He's slammed Michelle Obama on more than one occasion, at one time saying she has "this Stokely Carmichael-in-a-designer-dress thing going" and that she could be a "liabilit[y]" or an "albatross" for President Obama.)
Hannity protested, "She's smart enough not to dig us into this hole of socialism, she's smart enough not to cut our nukes in half, smart enough not to negotiate with Iran without preconditions, smart enough to understand capitalism works over socialism . . . ."
"She's smart enough not to cut our nukes in half," bleated Hannity. Hannity is, of course, no military expert, and never even served in the military -- but he apparently believes he and little Sarah know more about nuclear weapons than, say, "Retired U.S. generals and admirals [who] have repeatedly advocated junking all nuclear weapons, calling them ruinously expensive and of no military value." And, although Republicans are professing fear at the nuclear threat from North Korea and Iran, and "accuse Obama of near treason for having even considered junking America’s huge nuclear arsenal," the truth is that "North Korea has no long-ranged nuclear capability and wants nukes for defence against a possible U.S. nuclear attack . . . Iran has no nuclear weapons as of now and poses no threat to the distant U.S."
It was Juan Williams who left Hannity with nothing to say but a sarcastic "Okay" when Williams closing comment was that Palin was, "Smart enough to quit on the voters of Alaska before her term was up."
Palin herself during her Tonight Show appearance said that she was glad that she wasn't Vice President because she wouldn't know what to do with all of the free time.....
Fox News Ties Missle Defense Logo To Obama, Russia, And Islam

Missle Defense Angency's Web site features a new red, white and blue logo - described as 'scarily' similar to Obama's campaign logo, as well as the symbol of Islam.
Obviously this is manufactured news and just as intentional as all of the incorrect information that Fox News places on the chyron along the lower 3rd of the screen. That's where scandal ridden Republican's "mistakenly" get reported as Democrats as in the case of Sen. Mark Foley when news broke about him having a fondness for teenage boys. This didn't happen just once, but at least on three different ocassions during different segments regarding the discrased Republican Senator.
I know that the "D" is right below the "R" on the keyboard, but come on! - There's also the famous "?" that Fox News uses when they want to make a statement by phrasing it as a question such as. Is Obama's policies leading America towards Socialism? People don't watch the news to be asked questions, they watch the news to have questions answered.
Jon Stewart recenty called out Fox News on this sort of trickery during an appearance on The O'Reilly Factor. The example that he gave to Billo was that this sort of sillyness was like saying:
"I'm not saying that your mom is a whore, I'm just saying that she sleeps with alot of men for money."
If you look at the text again below that image, it says that the logo is "described" as 'scarily' similar to Obama's campaign logo, as well as the symbol of islam. What it doesn't say is who is describing it that way. That information may have been in the story if you clicked on the link, but we'll never know now since it was taken down so quickly. Even if it did appear in the full story, that it important information even for teasr text below an image. If they're going to emphasize that the logo described as 'scarily' similar to something evil, you should say who is describing it that way.
I'm not saying that Fox News is staged, I'm just saying that it comes across as unbelievable as the Jerry Springer Show. It all seems to be intentionally made to look like a legitamate television news program like Reno 911 is supposed to look like an episode of COPS. That's all I'm saying.

Stimulus Creates 150,000 Jobs In California
SCHWARZENEGGER: I find it interesting that you have a lot of Republicans running around pushing back on the stimulus money and saying this doesn’t create any new jobs. Then they go out and they do the photo ops and they’re posing with the big checks and they say, “Isn’t this great?”
Schwarzenegger then railed against his GOP colleagues for playing politics with the stimulus bill and attacked them for claiming it didn’t create jobs:
SCHWARZENEGGER: Anyone that says it hasn’t created a job, they should talk to the 150,000 people that have been getting jobs in California.
MORAN: In the private sector?
SCHWARZENEGGER: In the private sector and from the public sector. … So I’m happy that we got this money. I’m happy that we have put 150,000 people to work and there will be more people that are put to work because of it.
Watch it:
Throughout the past year, many GOP members of Congress who voted against the stimulus have been touting the money that it has delivered to their states or districts. From one side of thier mouth, they paint the stimulus as a failure and from the other side of their mouth they offer a few ambigous words while delivering large cardboard checks to municipalities at home as if they somehow took part in the process that made the much needed funds a reality.
"The American People" A Rant By Chico Brisbane
"The American People"
I have forever been weary of people that preface a sentance with "the bible says" and I am now adding the preface "the American people want" or "the Amercian People believe" to that list or worrisome prefaces.
The Republican Party, for the most part, has been a miserable failure during the Bush Years. It's like a brutal crime scene with DNA splattered all over the place.

Matthew Hoh: THERE IS NO WINNING IN AFGHANISTAN
Glenn Beck's Red Phone To The White House
Liz Cheney's Compulsive Lies : Pathological or Hereditary?
There are many reasons why a person would lie, but to cover-up something is always, more often then not, the reason for the attempt. Across the vast abyss of the world wide web, you can find an endless supply of examples where Liz Cheney has just flat out lied, embellished, and repeated statements that are just flat out untrue .
Ms. Cheney was quite clear when she said : "When President Bush used to do it, he'd do it without the cameras."
Now, either Ms. Cheney just made that narrative up as the words left her mouth, but made the mistake of assuming that all President's have made trips to Dover to honor our fallen soldiers.
She couldn't have confused it with another airfield or anything of that sort since George W. Bush never, and I mean NEVER went to be there for the brave men who where making their final trip home form a war they fought and died in at his command.
It's so easy for people to be frustrated with President Obama for not just shipping off 20,000 more men without stopping to make sure that we have a plan for getting in, executing the strategy, and getting the hell out. Or if that country even has a government.
Pathological liars often exaggerate issues. In this case, a person may not be lying deliberately. He or she would think and believe in their lies completely. A pathological liar would thus concoct lies in public to make people believe new stories very much like the way Ms. Cheney just concocted a story about President Bush not having any cameras around over at Dover when he went to pay his respects to our fallen soldiers.
Come on Liz! - If going with cameras after less then a year in office is bad, what is not going at all with or without cameras after nearly 8 fucking years. You said it yourself that every Commander In Cheif should do whatever they can to honor our military folks. Remember? - That's what you said Liz. Because these men have made the untimate sacrifice for thier country. Remember? - Those are your words Liz. But you see, here's the problem. Your fucking dad never went! - George Bush never went! - Neither of them went and they've had thousands, upon thousands, upon thousands of opportunities to do so. THEY DIDN'T GO! - And you have the balls to say that George Bush did when you obviously didn't have a clue if he did or not.
But now we get it! - This lie is the proverbial bell that you cannot un-ring. You said "The way that Presdient Bush did it, he did it without cameras." Your talking about a process that George Bush used to do something that he has never done before.
Ms. Cheney.
Kerry To Cheney: STFU Over Afghanistan Already
If Barack Obama and Joe Biden are not re-elected to a second term, I hope they will both stay in Washington so that they can continue to give thier daily critiques and criticisms to the incoming administration via the Sunday morning politicos.
O'REILLY: April, 2013
duty to shut up and get the hell out of town as quickly as possibe.
Now of course the loons in the far left liberal media are trying to portray the late Vice President Cheney's valuable input as meddling.
I think that John Kerry got it just right and I can hardley wait to see how he will respond to Kerry's ball-buster. I'm sure he'll probably have his daughter Liz fighting his battles for him. He's mearly a shell of the war criminal that we all remember.
GOP Celebrating Too Early?
However, if you compare the Republican Party of a year ago that was left beaten, brused, and battered after an 8 year cluster-fuck formally known at the Bush Administration, then indeed they have come along way in 12 months. In spite of an ugly summer with Sarah Palin, Glenn Beck, and Rush Limbaugh seemingly at the wheel.
Republicans in Washington my be celebrating too early if thier cause for celebration is the politial capital spent by Barack Obama the first 9 months of the year. A new Washington Post/ABC News poll suggests the GOP still faces serious perception problems in the eyes of the American public and here's why.
Among independent voters, who went heavily for Obama in 2008 and congressional Democrats in 2006, the numbers for Republicans on the confidence questions were even more worse.
And, perhaps most troubling for GOP hopes is the fact that just 20 percent of the Post sample identified themselves as Republicans, the lowest that number has been in Post polling since 1983.
Overall, 57 percent approve of the way Obama is handling his job as president and 40 percent disapprove. While those numbers have moved only marginally over the past few months, here, too, are fresh signs of restiveness among the party faithful:
The president receives better marks from all Americans for his handling of international affairs and his performance as commander in chief (57 percent approval on each). Majorities also approve of how he is dealing the situation with Iran and his winning of the Nobel Peace Prize.
